‘Star Honorary Doctorates’ Conferred on M.Kuklová and F.Renč
On 2 June 2010 Tomas Bata University in Zlín as the co-organizer of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth conferred the so-called ‘Star Honorary Doctorates’ on two celebrities – Ms Michaela Kuklová, an actress, and Mr Filip Renč, a movie director. The conferment of the humorous degree of “Star Doctor” is part of the Festival’s accompanying programme. Doc. Ing. Berenika Hausnerová, Ph.D., TBU Vice-Rector for International Relations, presented the artists with the awards.
Both artists at the same time received their own stars on the Walk of Fame situated in front of “Velké kino” (Grand Cinema). Similarly as in Hollywood, this honour is awarded by a charity foundation, i.e. by the Foundation Fund “Kapka naděje”, with Ms Vendula Auš Svobodová as the President of the Foundation.
In the past years, the ‘star honorary doctorates’ were conferred on these former children’s film stars: Mahulena Bočanová (2007), Dana Morávková, Lucie Vondráčková and Jan Čenský (2008), Ondřej Kepka and Tereza Brodská (2009.
