Academic Senate Voted for Prof. Hoza’s Removal from Office as TBU Rector

At its regular session held on 6 April 2010, the TBU Academic Senate voted on the proposal regarding the removal from office of Prof. Ing. Ignác Hoza, CSc. as the TBU Rector.
In order to remove the Rector from office, a 3/5 majority of all 36 members of the Academic Senate was necessary. In a secret ballot, the Senate voted for his removal from office: 27 votes were cast in favour of the removal, 9 votes were cast against it.

The proposal concerning the removal from office of Prof Hoza as the TBU Rector was presented at the regular session of the TBU Academic Senate held on 30 March 2010.

In compliance with the Law No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, as subsequently amended, the proposal concerning the removal from office will be submitted to the President of the Czech Republic through the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, as only the President is entitled to appoint and to remove the Rector of a public higher education institution from office, and that upon the proposal of the Academic Senate.
