Photokina Fair

The Studio of Advertising Photography (FMC) successfully presented itself at the international ‘Photokina’ fair held in Cologne, Germany. The representatives of the Studio used the opportunity of attending this world's leading fair for photography and imaging to present works by students and organize a lecture on study methods and on the programme of photography studies implemented at TBU.

“Before the start of this prestigious fair we had to take part in a competition with more than 52 schools from all over Europe participating. We were among the 21 participants selected by the expert jury. Therefore, we were able to participate in the ‘Academy Meets Photokina’ exhibition, which is a display of photos taken by students of higher education institutions offering specialized education in photography, with their seats not only in Germany but throughout Europe. There we presented a selection of photographs taken by BcA. Martin Tůma, BcA. Petr Willert, BcA. Viktor Pischinger and BcA. Jakub Jurdič,” explained Doc. MgA. Jaroslav Prokop, Head of the Department. He acted as a curator for the exhibition, together with MgA. Jan Jindra and Mgr. Lucia Fišerová.

The representatives of the Studio managed to establish a number of contacts at the fair. “One of significant New York galleries, the Lumas Gallery, has even expressed an interest in including the exhibited work by BcA. Viktor Pischinger, one of our students, in their permanent collection,” added Doc. Prokop.
