Second Place to “ZlíNY” at Festival in Karlovy Vary

Mr. Jan Otruba, a student at the TBU Faculty of Multimedia Communications, took second place at the Tour Region Film Festival in Karlovy Vary thanks to his film “ZlíNY – Zlín in New York”. Competing with 128 films entered, all of them focusing on the topic of tourism, he managed to finish in second place. The picture, also designated as the ZLIN Promo 2008, was shot last year to be shown during an exhibition staged in the Czech National House in Manhattan and was aimed at presenting the current town of Zlín to the Americans. The Tour Region Film Festival 2009 was held in the “Thermal” hotel between 7^th and 8^th October as a part of the 42^nd edition of the international Tourfilm festival. The following colleagues have collaborated with the director on the making of the movie: doc. MgA. Jana Janíková, ArtD. (script), Martin Dedek (director of photography), Veronika Mikalová (musical dramaturgy), Martin Jůza (animation) and many others.
