Czech Academic Games in Plzeň

Students of Tomas Bata University in Zlín successfully represented their school at the 8th Czech Academic Games that took place between 13 June and 20 June 2009 in Plzeň.

Results:

1st place:
Martin Tomášek - swimming - 400m freestyle
Martin Tomášek - swimming - 100m freestyle

2nd place:
Barbora Lacigová - athletics – triple jump
Monika Doležalová - orienteering

3rd place:
Novák, Marcaník - darts - doubles
Veronika Prnová - table tennis - doubles
Jana Pavlíčková - badminton - doubles
Jan Koňařík - athletics – triple jump

4th place:
Chromečková, Korčáková - beach volleyball
Men’s volleyball
Men’s basketball

5th place:
Koňařík, Štuber, Plšek, Nohýnek - athletics - 4x100m

6th place:
Radek Vala – mountain bike orienteering
Martin Hrabal - swimming - 100Z

Thanks to these excellent results Tomas Bata University in Zlín was placed 15th out of 42 accredited universities in the overall standings. A total of 42 TBU students took part in the Games.
