Professor Hoza Received Honorary Doctorate
Rector of TBU in Zlín, Prof. Ignác Hoza, received an honorary doctorate at Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) at yesterday’s session of the Scientific Board of SUA.The degree of Doctor honoris causa has been conferred upon Professor Hoza for his active involvement in the development of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra and for his personal contribution to the implementation of international scientific cooperation. “I have had close relations with the University of Agriculture in Nitra for a number of years. The fact that the degree of Doctor honoris causa has also been conferred upon Prof. Richard J. Godwin, PhD, FREng from Cranfield University at British Silsoe makes me appreciate the award even more,” said Professor Hoza.
Professor Hoza focuses on research in the field of food chemistry and technology, logistics and crisis management. He has published a number of scientific and research papers related to the above mentioned fields in our country as well as abroad. He is a member of professional organizations (Czech Chemical Society, Society for Well-Balanced Nutrition) and sits on scientific boards of a number of universities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, let’s mention the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences of SUA in Nitra, among others.
This was the second honorary doctorate that has recently been awarded to an employee of our University. This summer the degree of Doctor honoris causa was conferred upon Prof. Karel Kolomazník from the Faculty of Applied Informatics in Florence, Italy.
