Another Siemens Award Winner at TBU

Ing. Michaela Pelíšková, Ph.D. from the Polymer Centre of Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU) became the Siemens Award (Werner von Siemens Excellence Award) winner for the year 2007. The award is conferred annually by the Siemens company in cooperation with the Forum of Industry and Universities of the Czech Republic to the authors of the best Master’s theses, Doctoral theses and research projects in order to support the development of the Czech higher education, science and research.

Ing. Michaela Pelíšková, Ph.D. was conferred the Siemens Award for her Doctoral thesis entitled Electric Properties of Polymer Composites. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Technology and worked on her thesis under the supervision of Prof. Petr Sáha. Michaela Pelíšková has published the results of her research in 8 international magazines and has presented them at 11 international conferences.

The Siemens Award has been conferred in the past years to 5 TBU employees, out of which 4 have been conferred the Award for research in the field of polymer materials. All the Award holders currently work at TBU.
