Europass Seminar
Please accept our invitation to the Europass seminar organized by Eurocentrum Zlín in cooperation with the National Europass Centre, Czech Republic. The seminar will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday 7 February 2008 in the building of the Regional Authorities of the Zlín Region (on the 2nd floor). Europass is the first European set of documents on education and work experience. It is not a new certificate, it gives a summary of the qualifications gained. It facilitates communication among employers, job applicants, educational institutions and students in all EU member states. Since the Europass has the same form in all countries where it is used, it improves the transparency of qualifications and in this way the mobility of workers on the European labour market.
The seminar is targeted particularly at students of secondary schools, tertiary technical schools and higher education institutions, since it is mainly them who can continue their studies abroad or can find a job there. It might be useful for them to get acquainted with the Europass and its purpose and it is necessary for them to know where to get it, since it can greatly facilitate their mobility within the EU. One of the Europass documents is a Certificate Supplement (E-DO) that might be required by individuals as well as by schools. The Certificate Supplement is a document attached to the secondary school leaving certificate and its purpose is to facilitate transparency of the certificate in a foreign country. As opposed to the previous documents, the E-DO does not refer to its holder but rather to his/her qualifications. Therefore, it is identical for people who have completed the same education. It is possible for a school to order the Certificate Supplements in advance for all those students that are going to finish their studies in the year 2008. These will automatically obtain a document that will facilitate their mobility within the EU.
