A Crane Employed to Transfer Machines to the TP
Two newly bought machines were transferred into the premises of the Technology Park (TP) of Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Nad Ovčírnou street) on 28 July 2008. Due to their oversize dimensions and excessive weight (the larger one is 6 m long and weights 5 tons) a 50-ton crane was used in order to transfer them. The crane moved the machines into the building via a special assembly hole made in one of the walls of the building. The two machines will be used in research and development of plastics. An injector made in Japan worth CZK 2.8 million will be used for the preparation of polymer products by means of injecting polymer melt into a mould. The blower produced in the Czech Republic worth CZK 2 million will facilitate the preparation of concave plastic products.A number of other machines intended for polymer and food research are available in the building of the Technology Park, such as the BOCO co-extrusion line used for the preparation of polymer profiles, boards and films, or the ZJR – 50 vacuum emulsifying mixer used for the preparation of viscous food and medical liquids, emulsions, gels and creams.
