In September 2006 Tomas Bata University in Zlín has become the exclusive user of the premises in the Regional Educational Centre in Uherské Hradiště (situated in the former army barracks). Two of the TBU faculties are planning to expand to the newly rebuilt rooms, namely the Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Multimedia Communications. The opening ceremony of the Regional Educational Centre is scheduled to take place on 18^th September 2006. The Faculty of Technology is opening the following study programmes and courses to be lectured in Uherské Hradiště:

Study programme: ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT
Study course: Logistics and management
Logistics and management, specialization in Economic and information support of crisis management
Study programme: CHEMISTRY AND FOOD TECHNOLOGY
Study course: Chemistry and food technology, specialization in Canning technology

The Faculty of Multimedia Communications is opening the following study programme to be lectured in Uherské Hradiště:

Study programme: VISUAL ARTS
Study course: Multimedia and design, specialization in Visual works studio
• Three-year full-time study
• Graduates to be awarded the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts

Apart from the above-mentioned study programmes TBU is launching lessons in the Intensive Czech Language Course for international students. The two-term course and will be completed by a final examination. Successful candidates will receive a diploma proving their knowledge of the Czech language. They will be enabled to continue their study at TBU in Zlín or at another university in the Czech Republic.
