University planning to expand to Uherské Hradiště
Tomas Bata University (TBU) in Zlín is planning to offer some of its study courses in the academic year 2006/2007 at the new establishment in the town of Uherské Hradiště.
The students will be offered the study programme Economics and Management including the bachelor's study courses Information Logistics as well as Economic and Information Support of Crisis Management. The Faculty of Technology shall act as a guarantor for this study programme. After a three-year full-time study the graduates will receive the degree of a Bachelor in Economics. An accreditation of the master's degree study is anticipated, with the graduates being awarded the degree of a Master of Economics. At present, accreditation proceedings are underway, aiming at the start of classes in September 2006.
Other classes to be held in Uherské Hradiště shall be organized by the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, namely in the study programme Fine Arts, offering a three-year full-time study in the bachelor's study course Multimedia and Design, with the graduates to receive the degree of a Bachelor of Arts.
Furthermore, a Language Preparation Centre for International Students is to be established in Uherské Hradiště, preparing students to continue their studies at the TBU or at other higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. The centre is expected to run courses for 100 international students.
