Polymer Processing and Functionalization
Students and teachers from four universities in France (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Clermont-Ferrand), Italy (Universit`a degli Studi di Salerno), Slovakia (Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava) and the Czech Republic (TBU) will have an opportunity to study polymers intensively during two weeks in summer. A two-week summer school entitled Polymer Processing and Functionalization will take place at the TBU Faculty of Technology.
“The Faculty of Technology is one of the leading research units in the field of polymer studies. In cooperation with partner universities we want to offer our students and teachers a chance to broaden their knowledge and to exchange experience in the fields focusing on polymer processing, polymer processes and polymer functionalization,” said Prof. Berenika Hausnerová, the organizer of the summer school. “At the same time, we attract and inspire students to undertake research, which is a major priority for us now, in relation to the recruitment of staff for the research unit to be established, the Centre of Polymer Systems,” added Prof. Hausnerová.
The programme of the summer school organized for the participants will involve lectures, workshops with students working in international teams, and visits to industrial companies, e.g. to the company ‘Hella Autotechnik’ in Mohelnice. The supporting programme includes visits to interesting places in Zlín and in its surroundings. Last year, the summer school ‘Polymer Processing and Functionalization’ took place in Salerno; in 2013 the event will be held in Clermont-Ferrand in France.
